Aurora U18 Hockey: Tight Races Intensify Across Three Divisions
Tight points races in the 2024-2025 U18/U17/U16 house league highlight how Aurora's playing surfaces keep competition alive.
How we reported this
Standings in Aurora Minor Hockey's top house league divisions remain unsettled after tiebreakers placed Forest Green Pizza Nova first and Grey Ice Photo Studios/Desjardins second among U18/U17/U16 squads.
The results matter now because the season's remaining games will decide playoff seeding on the same Aurora ice surfaces that have hosted every contest so far. Local players and families count on consistent access to those venues to finish the schedule without interruption.
Local sponsors and venues sustain daily play
Teams carry names of Aurora businesses that supply equipment and cover ice time. Aurora Home Hardware, Helen & Paul Real Estate, Lion's Share Marketing, FTYR Chartered Professional Accountants and Desjardins appear on jerseys alongside the league's eight entries. These contributions help keep registration affordable and guarantee the facilities stay booked for practices and games throughout the winter months.
The league site lists every squad and its sponsor, underscoring how private support pairs with public rinks to run the division. Without that combination, the current schedule of matches could not proceed on schedule.
Tiebreakers reveal narrow margins
Forest Green Pizza Nova and Grey Ice Photo Studios/Desjardins finished level on points and head-to-head results before the league applied a goals-for differential. Forest Green posted 0.648 while Grey reached 0.521, settling the top two spots. Blue Helen & Paul Real Estate and Black FTYR Chartered Professional Accountants also split on points and head-to-head before most-wins broke the deadlock in Black's favor for fourth place.
White Lion's Share Marketing edged Tan Desjardins on head-to-head points to claim sixth. All calculations appear on the Aurora Minor Hockey standings page and follow the league's published rules.
